چکیده

Intermittency, an important property of astrophysical plasma turbulence, is studied extensively during last decades from in-situ measurements the solar wind and magnetic field in ecliptic plane at higher latitudes, heliocentric distances between 0.3 5 Astronomical Units. In this paper, we review main findings on intermittency derived investigation turbulence for inertial range scales. It turns out that our current knowledge evolution heliosphere based two missions, Helios Ulysses. We discuss importance data selection methodologies applications heliospheric spacecraft, different analysis techniques (the anomalous scaling structure function, non-Gaussianity probability distribution functions, local measure estimated a wavelet representation multifractal spectrum). Studies show Alvénic less intermittent but reveals increase with radial distance. Moreover, stronger than velocity fluctuations considered to be responsible distance anisotropy fluctuations. The fast minimum decreases latitude. Finally, level depends cycle phase, reflecting changes state suggesting deeper study origin slow can further improve understanding intermittency.

Radial evolution of solar wind intermittency in the inner heliosphere

We analyzed intermittency in the solar wind, as observed on the ecliptic plane, looking at magnetic field and velocity fluctuations between 0.3 and 1 AU, for both fast and slow wind and for compressive and directional fluctuations. Our analysis focused on the property that probability distribution functions of a fluctuating field affected by intermittency become more and more peaked at smaller ...

Why Is the Fast Solar Wind Fast and the Slow Solar Wind Slow? a Survey of Geometrical Models

Four decades have gone by since the discovery that the solar wind at 1 AU seems to exist in two relatively distinct states: slow and fast. There is still no universal agreement concerning the primary physical cause of this apparently bimodal distribution, even in its simplest manifestation at solar minimum. In this presentation we review and extend a series of ideas that link the different stat...

Origins of the Slow and the Ubiquitous Fast Solar Wind

We present in this Letter the first coordinated radio occultation measurements and ultraviolet observations of the inner corona below 5.5 R,, obtained during the Galileo solar conjunction in January 1997, to establish the origin of the slow solar ~vind. Limits on the flow speed are derived from the Doppler dimming of the resonantly scattered component of the oxygen 1032 and 1037 ~ lines as meas...

On the Slow Solar Wind

A theory for the origin of the slow solar wind is described. Recent papers have demonstrated that magnetic flux moves across coronal holes as a result of the interplay between the differential rotation of the photosphere and the non-radial expansion of the solar wind in more rigidly rotating coronal holes. This flux will be deposited at low latitudes and should reconnect with closed magnetic lo...
